To End Abortion Tourism after Roe v. Wade is Overturned
Abortion tourism, where women travel from a state where abortion is illegal to a state where abortion is legal is on the rise.
Since the Texas Heartbeat Act went into effect on September 1, 2021, it is estimated that abortions performed on women from Texas in Colorado has increased 520%.
Abortion tourism is expected to skyrocket even more once Roe v. Wade is overturned and many states ban abortion.
Therefore, we the undersigned petition the Colorado State Legislature as well as the Congress of the United States to end abortion tourism by enacting legislation prohibiting the crossing of state lines to procure an abortion.
