To Protect Women from a Dangerous Leroy Carhart Late-Term Abortion Clinic in Pueblo
Whereas, Dr. Carhart is currently under investigation in the state of Nebraska for harm done to patients;
Whereas, no fewer than 23 women have been transported to emergency rooms in the last 10 years following abortion procedures at Dr. Carhart’s clinics.
Whereas, Dr. Carhart has faced at least two malpractice lawsuits against him after horrific injuries done to two patients;
Whereas, at least one woman has died as a result of complications after an abortion at his clinic;
Whereas, Dr. Carhart’s incentive to open a clinic in Pueblo has nothing to do with safe healthcare for women but has everything to do with financial gain at the expense of women;
Whereas, the Pueblo city council can pass an ordinance to make Pueblo a Sanctuary City for the Unborn in accordance with federal law that supersedes state law;
Therefore, we petition the Pueblo City Council and Mayor to use the powers of their respective offices to pass the Sanctuary City for the Unborn ordinance.
